Genesis Landscapes is a woman and minority owned and operated company. The co-owners are Designer and Foreman — from consultation through design and installation, you will be working with them to complete your new landscape. They have a combined 12 years experience working in the field of landscape design + construction, a B.S. in Sustainable Environmental Design from UC Davis, and hold a C27 landscape contractors license.

Genesis Landscapes is dedicated to restoring the natural habitat while implementing landscape designs that withstand a changing climate. We specialize in converting thirsty lawns into CA Native, drought-tolerant, low-maintenance landscapes. Our focus is smaller-scale, simple residential landscape transformations to fit every client’s preference + budget.

Northern California has a historically rich, diverse habitat filled with plants suited for this climate. Native plants are naturally drought-tolerant and compatible with Northern California soil and climate. Diverse gardens create ideal environments for birds, pollinators, and insects that contribute to the local ecosystem, which needs native plants to survive. This also contributes to a healthier food system, which is important in our agriculture-rich, farm-to-fork capital.

The investment in a drought-tolerant landscape will withstand a changing climate, preserving it for generations to come, while increasing property value and benefiting the ecosystem.

Nurseries tend to carry very few CA Native plants and many landscape designers + contractors do not focus on them. We have the knowledge and access to local varieties to create a custom plant selection and design to fit any style.

Construction | Working with one company for design and construction is advantageous to the client because it simplifies the process and is more efficient. We know what it will cost to build the project and agree on the budget with our clients prior to starting the design, so there are no surprises later. A design-only firm cannot guarantee what it will cost to build their design. Our clients are in contact with an owner-operator through the entire process, ensuring excellent service. After Care | All of the landscapes we design and install are low-maintenance and drought-tolerant and for the little work that they do require to look their best, we provide a plant maintenance and irrigation guide to set you up for success!
